Meet Dr. Bharat Kumar BVSc & AH, DVM
_____________________________________________________________
Dr. Kumar grew up in Rohtak, India and spent most of his childhood around dogs, cats, goats, parrots, pigs, and buffaloes. There isn’t a single memory where animals were not a part of it. His love of veterinary medicine started with his great-grandfather, who was a veterinary nurse in an equine hospital and helped every patient with love and compassion. He embodied the values that he sees as important in veterinary medicine: compassion, knowledge, a strong work ethic, practicality, honesty, and fairness. Values which he strives to emulate in my practice of veterinary medicine every day.
He spent much of his time volunteering in a veterinary hospital before and during high school. He did his undergraduate studies in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Vaish College, before going on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University in 2009 and becoming a licensed veterinarian. He worked as a Gazetted Veterinary Officer in Animal Aid Unlimited Shelter, Udaipur, India and served the stray cows, donkeys, dogs, cats, and birds.
Dr. Kumar worked for 3 years in India before moving to Wisconsin in 2012. After coming here, he worked as a veterinary technician for 4 years in emergency and primary care hospitals in Milwaukee and attended the clinical year at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, IL and received his American Veterinary License in 2017. He worked in small animal practices in Milwaukee and Chicago before moving to California in 2022. Throughout his career, he has always tried to maintain a strong focus on client service and excellence in patient care; by continuously improving the quality of care delivered to both clients and patients.
Dr. Kumar is a dedicated meditator, energy worker, and holistic healer, devoted to bridging ancient wisdom with modern well-being. From a young age, he immersed himself in meditation centers, exploring and mastering various meditation techniques that deepened his connection to the self and the universe. His spiritual journey led him to the serene Himalayas, where he spent transformative time at Osho center, cultivating profound self-awareness and inner peace through deep meditation practices.
Rooted in the sacred traditions of energy healing, Dr. Kumar trained in Reiki in India and has been channeling its powerful life-force energy bringing balance, harmony, and healing to those in need.
Expanding his holistic approach, he studied Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture at Chi University, integrating these ancient modalities into his practice. With a deep passion for healing at all levels—mind, body, and spirit—Dr. Kumar believes in the interconnectedness of energy, nature, and self-discovery, offering a path to true wellness through mindfulness, meditation, and holistic care.

Digestion
Digestion is very important for all of us. If we do not get the full use of our food, then we do not get the nourishment. Eating processed foods or high calorie/low nutrient content foods, we consume calories, but not the life of the fresh foods so desperately needed to run our bodies. This goes for humans and animals. Adding in more digestive enzymes, prebiotics, probiotics, live, whole foods is what we strive for. We recommend adding Super Foods for those that cannot obtain and prepare all fresh, organic meals on their own. Many of the body conditions that we work with START IN THE GUT!
Immune Function & Fatigue
A lot of my clients/patients do not realize that the symptoms they are experiencing are connected with infection and auto-immune disturbances. Infection can take over from a GUT that is in dysbiosis (imbalance of the "bugs" that live in our gut). Infection (virus, bacteria, fungal, etc.) can "take over" when our systems are weakened by stressors. Stressors come in many forms--Chemical, Emotional, Physical and Electrical.
The immune system may also be in a state of "Auto" immune dysfunction. This means that you or your pet's immune system is attacking itself ! INFLAMMATION with a long list of symptoms is the result.
One of our specialties is to help you sort this all out.
Detoxification
Life on planet earth can be a toxic one. We and our animals are exposed to quite an assortment of dangerous poisons. Some are avoidable and some are not. Many of our patients make great health gains after being guided through gentle detoxification. Dietary changes, supplementation with homeopathic, herbal, super foods and more can help you "filter" out some of these cellular debris. Our animals are low to the ground and are also exposed to poisons we forget about. The mix of vaccinations, flea pesticides and medicines can also be something that we can help support for detox.

Why Pet Chiropractic?
You may see your pet having trouble going up and down stairs, jumping in or out of the car. Or maybe you saw them have an injury. Once you have ruled out fracture or other emergency conditions, the sooner that they are adjusted the quicker they can heal, because after an injury, scar tissue and myofasicial memory can cause that joint to heal incorrectly. With my own dog, I adjust him weekly--just because of life's activities--I want to keep him "tuned up". Chiropractic is not just for getting rid of pain from misaligned joints, but also studies show that the adjustments help stimulate the system and increase circulation.
